正面描述 Rudimentary emergency issue printed in red-brown ink on plain paper, with the central denomination numeral '1000 Roepiah' set within a decorative cartouche of crude guilloche-style scrollwork. The inscription 'NEGARA REP. INDONESIA' arches across the upper centre, flanked by corner numeral panels reading '1000'; the legend 'BON' appears at the top and 'NRI' at both top and bottom margins. Below the central vignette, hand-stamped or typeset text reads 'BANK KEDAERAH.' at lower left, 'M. MOEDA' at centre, '10 DEC. 1947' as the issue date, and 'WEDANA K/LEILONG' at lower right.

备注

The Membang Moeda issues from Sumatra in 1947 were emergency regional notes, authorized by the Indonesian Republican government during the Dutch military campaign to reclaim the archipelago. With the Dutch naval blockade severely disrupting communications and supply lines between Java and the outer islands, Sumatra's Republican administration was forced to produce its own currency locally rather than rely on centrally printed notes from Yogyakarta.

Handstamp authentication was the only available control mechanism under those conditions — not a design choice, a logistical one. The handstamp varies enough between surviving examples that forgery detection was genuinely difficult at the time.
