Four corner medallions each bear a stylised ornamental cross device within a circular guilloche frame. The issuer's name and sub-title appear in bold gothic lettering at the top centre, followed by the payment clause in roman type; the denomination '1 MILLION MARK' is set in large bold letters at centre, with a red serial number printed above it.
