| Description de l’avers | The obverse of this Notgeld Gutschein is the underlying 500 Mark note issued by Die Badische Anilin- & Soda-Fabrik, Ludwigshafen a/Rhein, printed in black Gothic letterpress on a light ochre guilloche underprint, with the denomination 'Fünfhundert 500 Mark' set in large decorative script at centre and the issuer's name in bold blackletter at the top. Two manuscript signatures appear above the issuer's imprint at the lower centre, flanked by the serial number 'No 546819' at upper left and lower right. A bold red diagonal overprint in two crossing bands reads 'Eine Million Mark', accompanied by additional red overprint text cancelling the original face value and confirming the revalued denomination in the context of hyperinflation. |

| Description du revers | The reverse is printed entirely in red-orange on a dense guilloche underprint incorporating repeated 'BASF' monogram watermarks and the numeral '1' in the side panels. The left portion carries a block of Gothic text in black listing the redemption banks in Mannheim and Ludwigshafen a. Rh., concluding with the expiry notice dated 1 März 1923. To the right, a tall vertical panel displays the denomination '500 MARK' above and below a large numeral '500' in bold red, with an ornamental circular vignette below bearing the company seal. |
