The dry seal — a simple embossed stamp rather than a printed security element — reflects how quickly printers and issuers had abandoned any pretense of sophisticated anti-counterfeiting measures by mid-1923.
The Reichsmark redenomination of November 1923 rendered the entire series worthless at one trillion old marks to one new mark.
