| Descrizione del dritto | The obverse is dominated by an elaborate guilloche underprint with a bold central denomination inscription in Gothic blackletter script reading 'Eine Million Mark', flanked above and below by numeral panels stating '1 000 000' within ornamental frames. At upper centre the issuing authority legend appears above the denomination, with a circular municipal seal of Solingen at lower centre, and a facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister to the right; the date 'Solingen, 1. August 1923' is set at lower left. To the left of the main panel, a vertical watermark-style vignette of a sword — emblematic of Solingen's cutlery trade — is surrounded by a circular repeating text legend. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | The reverse centres on an oval intaglio vignette of the Solingen market square as it appeared circa 1670, captioned 'MARKT UM 1670', surrounded by a guilloche band bearing the repeating text 'ROEMRYKE BERGE'. The main panel is enclosed by a dense letterpress underprint of repeated abbreviated text, and flanked on both left and right margins by vertical sword vignettes within circular text cartouches. Above and below the central panel, horizontal bands carry a German patriotic verse inscription, with the anti-counterfeiting warning 'Nachahmung strafbar!' printed at foot centre. |
