At upper centre the issuing authority legend appears above the denomination, with a circular municipal seal of Solingen at lower centre, and a facsimile signature of the Oberbürgermeister to the right; the date 'Solingen, 1. August 1923' is set at lower left. To the left of the main panel, a vertical watermark-style vignette of a sword — emblematic of Solingen's cutlery trade — is surrounded by a circular repeating text legend. |

The main panel is enclosed by a dense letterpress underprint of repeated abbreviated text, and flanked on both left and right margins by vertical sword vignettes within circular text cartouches. Above and below the central panel, horizontal bands carry a German patriotic verse inscription, with the anti-counterfeiting warning 'Nachahmung strafbar!' printed at foot centre. |
