The left panel carries a crowned municipal coat of arms with a rampant lion above a scroll cartouche bearing the numeral 1000000, below which the serial number is handstamped and the legend NUMMER: appears. The right panel bears the heading ZAHLUNGSANWEISUNG at top, the denomination EINE MILLION MARK in large display lettering, a two-line guarantee clause in smaller text, the issue date Kelheim, 7. Sept. 1923, and the facsimile signature of the 1. Bürgermeister below the authority name STADTRAT KELHEIM. The printer's imprint of Graphische Kunstanstalt Heinr. Schiele Regensburg appears at the lower left. |
