| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in green and black on cream paper, centred on a radiating sunburst underprint from which a large five-pointed star emerges at the apex. A symmetrical central vignette presents a stylised tree flanked by oak-leaf branches, with four circular medallions across the upper register each enclosing guild or craft symbols. The denomination «Eine Million Mark» is set in bold Fraktur blackletter across the lower centre, below which the issue place and date «Bamberg, Aug. 1923» appear alongside a facsimile signature over the titles «Stadtrat: Oberbürgermeister» and «Geheimer Rat», with a red serial number and an embossed city seal at lower left. |
