Euroscope's "Mémo euro" series was produced as a collector novelty, with denominations of zero and no legal tender status — purely commemorative paper designed to fill the gap left by the fact that no actual euro banknote celebrates regional landmarks or sporting venues. Enschedé's involvement lends the thing unexpected credibility; the Haarlem security printer has been producing currency and stamps continuously since 1703 and still holds active contracts with De Nederlandsche Bank.
The Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Ardennes has hosted the Belgian Grand Prix since 1925, with interruptions for both World Wars and a lengthy absence in the 1970s due to safety concerns over its original 14-kilometre public-road layout.
