Euroscope's "Mémo euro" series was produced as a collector novelty, with denominations of zero and no legal tender status — purely commemorative paper designed to fill the gap left by the fact that no actual euro banknote celebrates regional landmarks or sporting venues. Royal Joh. Enschedé's involvement lends the thing unexpected credibility; the Haarlem security printer has been producing currency and stamps continuously since 1703 and still holds active contracts with De Nederlandsche Bank.

The Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Ardennes has hosted the Belgian Grand Prix since 1925, with interruptions for both World Wars and a lengthy absence in the 1970s due to safety concerns over its original 14-kilometre public-road layout.
