EuroSouvenir notes are a licensed collector product — zero face value, legal from the outset, and deliberately outside any central bank mandate. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them to the same security specifications as genuine euro banknotes, which is partly the point: the tactile experience is authentic even if the monetary status is not.
Turku, known in Swedish as Åbo, was Finland's capital until 1812, when Alexander I transferred that function to Helsinki following the Russian annexation. The bilingual designation on this note reflects Finland's constitutional status as a country with two official languages — Swedish remains co-official, and Turku's Swedish name carries real civic weight, not mere tradition.
