The 0 Euro souvenir note program is administered by the UEFC, which licenses designs to tourist attractions and then contracts production to security printers — in this case Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the few remaining French firms with the capability to replicate genuine euro security features. La Cité de l'Espace is a space-themed science park in Toulouse, a city whose connection to European aerospace through Airbus and CNES gives the subject matter more grounding than most souvenir note themes manage.
