The EuroSouvenir program produces these zero-denomination notes as legal-concept collectibles — they carry the visual grammar of genuine euro banknotes but no monetary obligation whatsoever, a distinction that required careful negotiation with the European Central Bank to establish the format as permissible under counterfeiting law. Oberthur Fiduciaire prints them on genuine security paper with the same equipment used for actual currency, which is precisely why they feel like the real thing.
Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier's connection to Jeanne d'Arc is specific: she besieged and took the town in November 1429, one of her last military successes before her capture at Compiègne the following spring.
