Obverse description The obverse carries a central vignette of the Earth globe with French Guiana indicated, set against a stylised space-themed underprint. To the right, three launch vehicles — Vega-C, Ariane 62, and Ariane 64 — are rendered in technical illustration style. The Eurosouvenirs programme inscription, the zero-euro denomination, and the catalogue reference '2024-3' appear within the design, alongside a facsimile signature of R. Faille, C.E.O., and the UELV emblem framed by a row of five stars.

Reverse description The reverse reproduces the standard Eurosouvenirs reverse layout, with six celebrated European architectural monuments arranged across the field: Brandenburg Gate (Berlin), Torre de Belém (Lisbon), Eiffel Tower (Paris), Colosseum (Rome), Sagrada Família (Barcelona), and Manneken-Pis (Brussels). A portrait vignette of the Mona Lisa is positioned to the right, and the printer's imprint appears at the lower centre beneath the zero-euro denomination panel.

Comments

Eurosouvenirs notes have been authorized under an ECB licensing arrangement since 2016, with Oberthur Fiduciaire producing the series under strict format and security-feature requirements that mirror genuine euro banknotes closely enough to cause occasional confusion at retail. This particular example commemorates the Guyaspace visitor experience at the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana — the primary European launch facility and the site from which Ariane, Soyuz, and Vega missions have departed since the early 1970s.

Kourou was selected for the launch site in 1964 partly because of its proximity to the equator, which provides a meaningful velocity advantage for geostationary orbit missions.
