EuroSouvenir notes are a private collector series issued under license from the European Central Bank, which permits zero-denomination educational items bearing euro-style graphics provided they cannot be mistaken for legal tender. Oberthur Fiduciaire, one of the few security printers with genuine central bank credentials, handles the print run — the same firm that has produced currency for dozens of sovereign states.
The TAP Air Portugal DC-3 subject references the airline's postwar launch in 1945, when it operated the Douglas twin-engine type on early Lisbon routes before acquiring more modern equipment.
