Euro Souvenir notes occupy a strange position in modern notaphily — they are genuine banknote-format items produced on certified security paper by licensed currency printers, yet they carry no monetary value and are sold directly to tourists as collectibles. Oberthur Fiduciaire, which prints actual euro notes for the Banque de France, applies the same substrate and printing standards here. The formal production chain is real; only the denomination is fictional.
