A Tau cross, the emblem closely associated with Saint Francis, is prominently rendered at the center, accompanied by a depiction of burning incense rising in a stylized flame. Passages from the Canticle of Creatures — the celebrated hymn composed by Saint Francis — are inscribed in the original medieval Umbrian Italian along both sides of the design, framing the central imagery.
