Seròs is a small agricultural municipality on the Segre river in Lleida province, and during the Civil War its CNT-affiliated collective issued emergency fractional scrip to keep local commerce moving after metallic coin vanished from circulation almost entirely. The Colectividad Renacer — "rebirth collective" — was one of hundreds of anarcho-syndicalist agricultural collectives that printed their own substitute currency between 1936 and 1939, outside any central Republican monetary authority.

At 0.05 pesetas, this is genuine small-change replacement, printed on whatever paper was locally available. The Allepuz and Gari catalogues both list this piece, but surviving examples are genuinely scarce — rural Aragonese and Catalan scrip was rarely preserved after Franco's forces consolidated control and collectivist organizations were suppressed.
