| Reverse description | Owl standing facing, with large globular eyes prominently rendered and wings folded at the sides, talons visible at the base. To the left of the owl, the Greek ethnic abbreviation ΗΡΑ is inscribed vertically in the field, identifying the issuing city of Herakleia. The design closely follows Athenian iconographic conventions for the owl, adapted to local Lucanian bronze coinage. The overall composition is compact and well-centred within the irregular flan. |
