Zwanziger - Leopold IV Meran

Leopold IV inherited Tyrol in 1395 following the partition of Habsburg lands after Duke Albert III's death, ruling a territory perpetually strained by its role as a transit corridor between the German lands and Italy. His administration leaned heavily on minting revenue, and the Tyrolean silver issues of this period reflect an aggressive monetization policy driven partly by the costs of managing Alpine passes and the garrison towns along them.

The CNA J36 type falls within a transitional phase for Tyrolean coinage, before the more standardized Kreuzer-based system took hold in the region under later Habsburg reorganization.
