Obverse description Central field displays the Hebrew inscription SHIM'ON (שמען), the name of the revolt leader Simeon bar Kokhba, arranged in two lines within the field. The inscription is enclosed by a wreath composed of stylized leaves and berries rendered in low relief, a design characteristic of Bar Kokhba coinage. The wreath border encircles the entire central motif, with individual leaf pairs visible around the circumference. The coin surface shows typical irregularity of hammered silver planchets of the period.
