Obverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic tughra legend within a dotted inner border, surrounded by an ornate wreath or foliate border with a beaded outer rim. The inscription names Sultan Mahmud II with his titles in flowing Ottoman script, and the accession year 1223 AH appears in the lower portion of the central field. The overall design is characteristic of early 19th-century Ottoman milled coinage, with the text arranged in stacked horizontal registers.

Reverse description Central field displaying a multi-line Ottoman Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a dotted inner border and a beaded outer rim. The legend references the Sultan's titles including 'Sultan al-Barrayn' and 'Khaqan al-Bahrayn' (Sultan of the Two Lands and Sovereign of the Two Seas), along with the regnal year numeral. The composition is tightly arranged in the Ottoman calligraphic style typical of the Konstantiniyye mint issues of this period.
