Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing bust of King Stanisław August Poniatowski occupying the central field, rendered in high relief with finely engraved naturalistic detail of the hair tied in a queue. The portrait is executed in the neoclassical style characteristic of late 18th-century Polish coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy close to the milled border, reading STANISLAUS AUG. D.G. REX POL. M.D.L., identifying the king by name and his titles as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania.
