The inscription is rendered in bold, interlocking strokes within a roughly square cartouche, typical of the stamping technique used on Chu state gold currency. The surrounding field retains the irregular, granular surface characteristic of hand-cast gold sycee-style monetary pieces. Multiple such stamps were typically impressed across a larger gold sheet, which was then cut into individual units for circulation. |
