Obverse description Central field features the ornate tughra (imperial cipher) of Sultan Abdülmecid I, rendered in calligraphic relief with characteristic upward finials and interlaced loops. A floral rosette is incorporated within the body of the tughra. The entire design is enclosed within a decorative border composed of repeating tulip and floral motifs, a hallmark of Ottoman numismatic artistry of the Tanzimat period.
