Obverse description Struck in hammered copper, the obverse presents a multi-line Arabic legend filling the entire field within an irregular dotted border. The inscription, rendered in bold Naskh script, references the ruling sultan Ala ud-Din Ahmad Shah II of the Bahmani Sultanate, reigning 1435–1457. The die-cut lettering is raised in high relief against a flat, slightly granular ground. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and crude striking typical of Bahmani copper coinage of this period.
