Reverse description A bold Portuguese cross of Jerusalem type occupies the entire central field, its four arms extending to a raised inner circle. The date 1664 is distributed in the four quadrants formed by the cross arms, with the digits 1 and 6 in the upper quadrants and 6 and 4 in the lower quadrants. The whole is contained within a raised circular border, itself surrounded by the characteristic radial milling of the Goa hammered coinage.
