Reverse description A stylized Catherine wheel occupies the entire field, rendered in bold low relief with radiating spokes and a central hub, characteristic of the crude cast technique employed at the Baçaim mint. The wheel, referencing the martyrdom of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, is depicted with curved intersecting lines forming a spoked cartwheel design. Small circular pellets or bosses are distributed between the spokes in the outer segments of the wheel. The design fills the flan to its plain raised rim with no legend or inscription.
