| Additional information |
Matthias II's brief Bohemian reign ended in the opening violence of the Thirty Years' War — the Defenestration of Prague in May 1618 and the subsequent revolt of the Bohemian estates occurred while this type was still being struck at Kuttenberg. The mint continued operating through the political crisis, though Matthias himself never recovered meaningful authority over the kingdom before his death in March 1619.
Kuttenberg had been one of the great silver-producing centers of medieval Europe, though by this period its mines were well past peak output. The three Diet references reflect documented die variations across the emission years rather than distinct authorized issues.
