| Obverse description | The groom and bride, both draped in classical antique garments, kneel facing each other before an altar bearing an open Gospel book inscribed EVANGILE, surmounted by a cross. The groom on the left extends his right hand to hold the bride's hand while raising his left hand toward the book in an oath gesture; the bride kneels on the right in a devotional posture. A two-line biblical legend appears in the lower exergue, with the source reference below, and the engraver's signature PETIT F. to the lower left field. |
