Factory canteen coupons of this type were a standard feature of Yugoslav workers' self-management enterprises — the so-called radne organizacije, or ROs — particularly from the 1960s through the 1980s. Munja Zagreb was one of the city's better-known electrical goods manufacturers, producing batteries and lighting equipment. Meal coupons like this one were issued directly by the enterprise and redeemed in the factory canteen, bypassing the general currency system entirely.
These pieces almost never left the factory floor. Survival is largely accidental.
