| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field features a crowned Gothic 'Y' monogram (the so-called Ypsilon of João II), flanked by the mint mark 'L' for Lisboa on the left and a pellet or annulet on the right, all within a beaded inner circle. The crowned monogram is rendered in a late Gothic style typical of Manueline-era Portuguese hammered coinage. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the central device by a beaded border. |
