| Obverse description | Central field dominated by the Portuguese royal coat of arms, featuring the characteristic escutcheons and castles arranged in the traditional quartered shield format. The arms are flanked by elaborate foliate and scrollwork supporters, with decorative flourishes extending to the upper portion of the design. A small five-pointed star or cross ornament appears at the apex of the composition. The overall design is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude hammered style typical of colonial Portuguese Indian copper coinage of the late eighteenth century. |
