| Obverse lettering | vinte reis 1787 |
| Reverse description | Central legend in three lines reading VINTE / REIS / 1787, with a small five-pointed star above the inscription serving as an ornamental stop. The field is plain and unadorned, allowing the deeply struck lettering to dominate the design. The entire composition is enclosed within a milled or reeded border, clearly visible around the coin's circumference, a distinctive feature of this Goa mint issue. The lettering is rendered in an upright Roman style consistent with Portuguese colonial coinage of the Maria I period. |
