Obverse description Within a six-lobed cartouche, the crowned Austrian shield (barry of six) is displayed centrally in the field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the lobed frame, reading ARCHIDVCES AVST, denoting the Archduke of Austria. The overall design is characteristic of the small hammered coinage of the Tyrolean mint at Hall.
