Obverse description Central field displays a four-petaled clover or trefoil rosette motif enclosed within a plain inner circle. The surrounding annular border is decorated with a series of small six-pointed stars interspersed among the abbreviated legend characters. The legend +A+D+R+E+S+ appears in Gothic lettering around the periphery, referencing Bishop Adrian I of Sion. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Swiss ecclesiastical billon coinage, with a somewhat irregular flan typical of hammered production.
