Obverse description Central device depicts a tall flaming brazier or altar on a pedestal, flanked by crossed fasces, surmounted by two flying doves bearing olive branches. The arc legend at top reads GRANDE GVERRA PER LA CIVILTA, flanked by the Roman numerals MCMXIV and MCMXVIII in the field. A two-line inscription in the lower exergue reads AI COMBATTENTI DELLE NAZIONI ALLEATE ED ASSOCIATE, with the engraver's signature G. VILLA INC. to the lower right.
