| Description de l’avers | Standing full-length figure of Germania in armour and a winged helmet, holding a downward-pointing sword and a large oval shield, positioned before a panoramic cityscape of Paris in low relief. Captured French military trophies — swords, a cannon, cannonballs and a drum — are strewn at her feet in the lower field. The encircling legend appears in the upper and lower portions of the field, with the engraver's signature DESCLER incised in the exergue below the central composition. |

| Description du revers | Five circular medallions, each containing a draped bust in high relief, are arranged around a central imperial double-headed eagle and connected by intertwining laurel branches. At the top is King Wilhelm of Prussia; to the upper left King Ludwig II of Bavaria; to the upper right King Karl of Württemberg; to the lower left Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden; and to the lower right Grand Duke Ludwig III of Hesse. Hatched heraldic shields bearing the arms or colours of the respective states are placed between the medallions, and three stars appear at the base. The legend EINIG MACHT STARK is distributed around the rim of the field. |
