Obverse description Facing bust of the ruler (nirtanak) depicted frontally, with hair tied and dressed in typical Sogdian fashion; the face is rendered in a stylized, somewhat crude manner characteristic of Chach coinage. The bust occupies the central field of the flan, with no accompanying symbol present in the field. The portrait displays large eyes and schematic facial features consistent with the local artistic tradition of the Chach principality. The coin lacks a formal legend on the obverse.
