| Obverse description | Crude bust of a ruler in three-quarter facing left, wearing a distinctive rounded cap or headdress, rendered in a schematic style characteristic of early Sogdian coinage. The facial features, including eyes and nose, are summarily indicated in low relief. A fragmentary Sogdian legend appears in the field before the face, partially legible due to the rough striking and flan irregularity.
