The figure appears in frontal or near-frontal stance, dressed in the characteristic eastern royal costume. A Greek circular legend surrounds the central type, reading BACIΛEΩC ABΓAΡOC, affirming the royal authority of the Abgarid dynasty. The reverse field shows considerable wear consistent with circulation, and the flan is irregular in outline as typical of hammered provincial bronzes from Edessa. |
