Unit - Esuprasu Corieltauvian K

The Corieltauvi occupied a broad territory across what is now the East Midlands, and their coinage — among the latest British Iron Age issues — continued into the early years of Roman occupation. This particular unit type is attributed to the period immediately before or coinciding with the Claudian conquest of 43 AD, making it one of the last expressions of independent tribal minting in the region. The tribe submitted to Rome relatively early, and coinage production almost certainly ceased within a few years of the legions reaching their territory.
