正面描述 Tetrastyle temple façade depicted in high relief, shown in frontal view with a prominent triangular pediment supported by four columns; a caduceus or floral motif is visible between the central columns in the intercolumniation. The architectural rendering is characteristic of Iberian Punic coinage of the 2nd century BC, executed in a bold, schematic style. A dotted border frames the design along the lower periphery of the flan.

附加信息

Abdera on the Iberian coast was a Phoenician foundation, established around the 8th century BC, and its bronze coinage of the 2nd century reflects the city's persistent Semitic cultural identity long after most of the peninsula had shifted under Carthaginian and then Roman pressure. The city managed to retain a degree of autonomous civic coinage well into the period of Roman consolidation following the Punic Wars — an unusual position for a settlement of its size.

The ACIP classification places this type firmly within the later autonomous issues before Roman administrative control effectively absorbed local minting rights across Hispania Ulterior.
