| Aanvullende informatie |
Olontigi was a Turdetanian settlement in the lower Guadalquivir valley, and its bronze coinage belongs to the broader phenomenon of Hispano-Punic civic issues that proliferated during and after the Second Punic War, when Rome's grip on Baetica remained contested and local communities struck their own bronze to meet immediate economic needs. The exact location of Olontigi itself is still debated — candidates include sites near modern Albaida del Aljarafe — which makes the coins among the few material anchors for the town's existence at all.
