The Titiakos gens issued bronze coinage in the northeastern Iberian region during the late Republican period, when Roman administrative pressure was reshaping local monetary practices across the peninsula. These issues belong to a broader class of Iberian municipal bronzes struck by indigenous communities that retained nominal monetary autonomy even as Roman denarii increasingly dominated commercial exchange.
ACIP 1897 is among the less prolific of the catalogued Iberian series — surviving specimens are encountered infrequently in trade, and die studies remain incomplete.
