Beschrijving keerzijde A mounted horseman galloping to the right, raising a long spear in his right hand in a martial pose typical of Celtiberian bronze coinage. The horse is rendered with vigorous, schematic lines consistent with Iberian die-cutting conventions. A crescent or celestial symbol appears in the upper right field. Below the horse, the mint legend is inscribed in Celtiberian Iberian script. The overall composition follows the standard reverse type of the Hispano-Celtiberian series.

Aanvullende informatie

The Uarakos gens was among the indigenous Iberian minting authorities operating in the northeastern Iberian Peninsula during the late Republican period, issuing bronze coinage under the broader framework of local autonomy that Rome permitted to cooperative communities. Exactly where Uarakos was located remains unresolved — the site has not been conclusively identified archaeologically, which makes die studies the primary tool for reconstructing output volume and sequence.

ACIP 1912 represents the principal catalogued type for this issuer.
