正面描述 A deer depicted in profile walking to the right, rendered in a schematic, archaic style characteristic of early Indian tribal coinage. The animal's form is outlined in low relief against a flat, irregular flan, with details of the body suggested rather than finely modelled. The overall composition is centred within the available field.

背面描述 A stylised solar symbol depicted as a rayed sun, rendered in the conventional punch-marked manner associated with early Indian tribal issues of the 1st century BC. The design occupies the centre of the reverse field, with radiating elements extending outward in a schematic fashion. The flan is irregular and the surface shows typical granular bronze texture.

附加信息

The Kada tribal republic occupied territory in the northwestern subcontinent during the late pre-Mauryan and post-Mauryan transitional period, when dozens of janapada and smaller tribal polities struck their own copper and bronze coinage in the absence of centralized imperial authority. Pieces attributed to Kada remain poorly documented in the Western numismatic literature, with JA Delhi cataloguing representing some of the only systematic reference work on this series.

The weight at 20g places this firmly among the heavier uninscribed or lightly inscribed tribal bronzes of the region.
