Toletum — Roman-era Toledo — struck bronze units during the late Republican period as a municipium operating under Roman administrative oversight, part of the broader Iberian civic coinage tradition that Rome permitted across Hispania as local currency for local transactions. The city's coins are among the more obscure of the Hispanic series, with relatively few specimens recorded across major collections.

ACIP 1901 is sparsely represented in auction records, which makes condition assessment against comparable examples genuinely difficult.
