Seteisken was an Iberian mint whose precise location remains unresolved — most scholars place it somewhere in the Ebro valley, though no ancient source confirms this definitively. These bronzes circulated during the final decades of organized Iberian resistance to Roman administrative consolidation, a period when local mints continued striking in native script largely as a matter of civic identity rather than economic necessity, Roman coinage having already saturated regional trade.
The Iberian legend on issues of this type represents one of the last generations of semi-syllabic script used on coinage before Latin displaced it entirely across the peninsula.
