| Reverse description | Mounted warrior advancing to the right on horseback, his right arm raised and brandishing a sword in an aggressive posture, a hallmark type of the Celtiberian bronze coinage series. The horse is depicted in a vigorous galloping stance with elongated legs, consistent with the stylized equestrian imagery prevalent on Iberian Hispanic coinage of the second century BC. Below the horse and horseman, the Iberian (Celtiberian) mint name legend appears in the exergue in native Iberian semi-syllabic script. The overall composition fills the flan with bold, deeply struck relief despite the irregularity of the planchet. |
